TOWARDS THE ENGLISH HARBOUR
Second day
sailors had hard times because of lacking wind, and most of them
could not take start. The course was 16 Nms until English harbour,
which, according
to locals, British naval vessels hid at the English Harbor during
the World War II. During the German Occupation of Greek Islands, two
British military aircraft including the skeletons of the pilots were
discovered by Turkish divers at the British harbor. 14 yachts could
finish the course in total . The wind got faster at the finish line
and competition became harder then. The teams who could not take
start, spent the day swimming in English Harbour, waiting for the
great concert in the evening.
About 16:00
hrs, yachts had formed the Circle of LovE around the stage, which
was floating on water. A big concert took place in the evening. One
of teh most popular singers in Turkey, Nilufer got on the stage and
gave a wonderful concert to spectators in the sea on their boats and
dinghies. The scene was worth seeing, all participants were singing
on their dinghies, moving around the stage. Every body was ready for
the next day’s course.
